Jason Emory is a graduate research assistant and a PhD student in LSU's Department of Chemistry. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Chemistry from UNC Charlotte in 2001 and 2004 respectively. Jason's research intrests are in the field of flourescence spectroscopy with a focus on single molecule detection of molecular beacons as biomarkers. These goals are being meet by designing and building new modular genosensor systems and the supporting instrumenation.

Timur Gilmanov is a PhD student with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He obtained a BS degree in Summer 2007 from Kazan State University, Russia. Since Spring 2008 he is involved in solving problems of biomechanics at the EPSCOR project. His research interests are computational approaches in biomechanics, including theory of membranes and Flow-Structure Interaction(FSI) problems. To achieve the objectives of his research he is studying numerical methods for solving continuum mechanics equations and high-performance computing. He has been using LONI for his research in since he came to LSU in 2008.

Oleg graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with a degree in applied physics and mathematics. The subject of his diploma was computing spectrum of semiconductor nanowires. Currently he is pursuing Ph.D. in physics under supervision of Dr. Manuel Tiglio. Oleg started working at CCT in February 2006 as a member of numerical relativity group, and right now he is working on initial data for new generalized harmonic formulation of Einstein's equations. Another project, which he is doing at CCT with Dr. Burak Aksoylu from Maths department, is application of space and space-time finite elements in general relativity.

Cornelius is a doctoral student within the Computer Science Department. He completed Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Computer Science at Jackson State University respectively in 2003 and 2005 and started here at the LSU/CCT Fall 2005. Currently Cornelius is investigating brokering techniques to help manage distributed visualization applications as part of the Enlightened Project. He is also working with the Tangible Visualization Group to find ways to apply brokering and other distibuted computing concepts to support co-located, computer-supported, collaborative use of tangible interaction devices in scenarios such as remote visualization and teleconference sessions. His research interests include visualization, human computer interfaces, distributed computing and design.

During his studies, Ole worked at the Max-Planck-Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert-Einstein-Institute) as a software developer for the Grid Application Toolkit (JavaGAT).
